Russian band Tanator from St. Petersburg was formed at the junction of 2012/2013 years, and was originally conceived as an old school thrash metal. Over time, their music was supplemented by a variety of other extreme genres such as crust, UK82, proto-black and old-school death metal. The lyrics consist mainly of social motives, as well as evil, aggression, death and pessimism. The line-up got through multiple changes and the only permanent member is Maxim "alligator" Mikhailov. The band has a 2013 demo, two full-length albums, one EP and a tribute to Japanese legends Sabbat. Besides many gigs in Russia, Tanator have played with international bands like Nervosa, Vektor, Exumer, Deathhammer, Overcharge, Kohti Tuhoa, Hello Bastards, Krupskaya. Also toured around Europe with Fatum and Moratory, performed at such festivals as Zoro fest, Enemy of the sun, Punk'n'roll festival etc.
